Description

The City of Bowie, Maryland requests bids from qualified building demolition contractors to demolish two wood tobacco barns and appropriately dispose of all materials.  The demolition work includes the demolition, removal disposal of the two barns, foundations, and concrete slabs (pads), as well as other site improvements and miscellaneous farm equipment, as more particularly described in the IFB. The site is located on City of Bowie property known as the Entzien Farm, located at 18509 Central Avenue, Bowie, MD 20716. Complete specifications and bid documents may be obtained at no cost through Bid Locker at (https://bidlocker.us/details/3485_Barn_Farm_Equipment_Materials_Disposal_Services). Registration to use Bid Locker is at https://bidlocker.us/Account/Signup and is free to all interested parties.

Electronic (pdf) bids will be received through Bid Locker at (https://bidlocker.us/details/3485_Barn_Farm_Equipment_Materials_Disposal_Services) until 11:00 a.m. on Thursday, May 11, 2023. The City of Bowie reserves the right to reject any bids.

A Mandatory Pre-Bid Meeting is scheduled for 9:00 a.m., Tuesday, May 2, 2023 at the Site. Entrance from MD 214/Central Avenue only.

All questions or requests for clarifications regarding this Invitation for Bids shall be submitted by email to Robin Jones at rjones@cityofbowie.org no later than 11:00 a.m. on Friday, May 5, 2023.  Written responses to all questions and/or requests for clarifications will be issued no later than Tuesday, May 9, 2023, to all those who request the IFB.

The City encourages certified disadvantaged business entities to submit a bid.

About Bowie

Bowie, Maryland, is a city of 54,727 residents, acccording to the 2010 Census, located in Prince George's County, and convenient to Washington, DC, Annapolis, and Baltimore.

The city consists of approximately 18-square miles. There are more than 1,100 acres set aside as parks or as preserved open space, including over 22 miles of paths and trails, and 75 ball fields.

Bowie has a nonpartisan city government directed by a mayor and six council members. The City Council meets on the first and third Mondays of most months in sessions that are open to the public.
