ITB 4393 Cascade Crest Modernization

Description

This work package targets improvements that will “refresh” the building. The Oregon Zoo hired SERA Architects to focus on aged equipment and equipment at end of life, reorganize and reconfigure functions based on current and future work practices, and meet Metro’s Green Building and Sustainable Site Policy.

Two work packages have been prepared by SERA Architects to focus on different business objectives.  Each package is permitted separately and has their own Substantial completion date.  Where it is anticipated that the majority of work can take place during typical business hours the Contractor shall plan for stacking resources, running multiple shifts, working weekends, and/or holidays as needed to meet the Substantial completion date for each package of work.

1.      Banquet Center.

This work is focused on Guest facing services with an emphasis on events.

Available start date, December 22, 2024.

Substantial completion April 14, 2025.

2.      Administrative.

This work is focused on staff work areas and general upgrades for aged systems and equipment. 

Available start date, January 13, 2025.

Owner to coordinate removal of existing furniture and equipment from work areas.

Substantial completion June 2, 2025.

Pre-Bid Conference

A voluntary Pre-Bid Conference is scheduled for all potential prime and sub-contractors on October 29, 2024, at 8am, and 10am, the Oregon Zoo, 4001 SW Canyon Rd, Portland, OR 97221.  Send email to bidsandproposals@oregonmetro.gov to confirm your preferred time for walkthrough and reference ITB 4393 in email.  Meet at the front entrance.  Per Metro’s Subcontractor Equity Program, Contractors that submit a bid for this project must solicit a sub-bid from ALL COBID certified businesses who attend the pre-bid conference.

A second viewing of the work site is scheduled for all potential prime and sub-contractors on November 5, 2024, at 8am, and 10am, at the Oregon Zoo, 4001 SW Canyon Rd., Portland, OR 97221.  Send email to bidsandproposals@oregonmetro.gov to confirm your preferred time for walkthrough and reference ITB 4393 in email.  Meet at the front entrance.  No project details will be shared at this meeting.  Any questions will be responded to in a bid addendum following the meeting.  Attendees will be recorded so that any COBID certified business that attend can be reached by Contractors who submit bids.
