Vendor Questions and Answers

Submitted Questions about this Bid

These are questions submitted by vendors for which the agency has supplied an answer.

Questions
with supply chains still behind is the city willing to work with contractors on the tentative completion date in the bid docs? if so should the bids required calendar schedule have the actual tentative start date we expect to have materials by? or should we stick with the ntp in the bid so as not to get disqualified on a technicality?
Asked on 1/25/2023 3:05:36 PM
Answer:

The City of Beaverton prefers that the tentative construction schedule reflect the actual/realistic timeline and start date that accounts for materials delays.  This is preferred and will not disqualify the proposing vendor from being a responsive bidder on the bid.

Per ODOT spec 00170.70 (k) is Builder's Risk Installation Floater insurance required.
Asked on 2/14/2023 8:00:39 PM
Answer:

Per the sample contract included, Builders’ Risk Insurance is not required.

Does the City really want to use laser profiling on this job?
Asked on 2/16/2023 1:40:35 PM
Answer:

City requires work to be done per Section 00415 – Video Pipe Inspection.  Deflection testing may be done using either of the listed methods.

Will the City be doing the final video inspections themselves or will that be on the contractor?
Asked on 2/16/2023 1:40:44 PM
Answer:

The Contractor is expected to do the final video inspection and there is a bid item for “Mainline Video Inspection” and “Service Line Video Inspection, Push Camera”.
