RFQ 4047 Chinook Gravel Trail Removal and Installation

Description

Removal of existing trail:

·         Removal of existing damaged asphalt trail section.

·         Removal will consist of removal and disposal of duff and top organic layers down to mineral soil and backfill should be applied in 6 inch lifts and compacted until no visual displacement.

·         Complete any root trimming necessary in the area and install root barrier to reduce future root encroachment. 

Installation of new trail section will be consistent with option 1 in attached drawings that include:

·         Raised timber side rails that are secured with re-bar that are ½’’ thickness x 18’’ minimum depth. 

·         Timbers for this should be 6’’x6’’ pressure treated lumber or an approved alternative with a 6 foot tread width.

·         Base layer material should be a minimum of a  4’’ layer of ¾’’ minus gravel topped with a 2’’ compacted ¼’’ minus gravel with fines  .  

·         Outslope should be 2% minimum 3% maximum.
