Description
Portland Means Progress and the Mercatus Directory are partnering to create connections for Portland Means Progress businesses to purchase from Mercatus businesses. The Mercatus Purchasing Navigator will (a) act as a liaison between local BIPOC-owned businesses and Portland Means Progress businesses (b) build the capacity of the Mercatus Directory by supporting businesses owned by People of Color to join this network, and (c) connect one-on-one with Portland Means Progress businesses.
Portland Means Progress is an initiative that supports Portland businesses as they take action to advance racial equity within their organization and communities. A core priority of Portland Means Progress is Intentional Purchasing: calling on businesses to purchase goods & services from local businesses owned by Black, Indigenous, and People of Color.
The Mercatus Directory features entrepreneurs of color from the Portland Metro area. Mercatus members include hundreds of racially and ethnically diverse business owners. Collectively, the Mercatus community is elevating a vibrant and multicultural narrative of business ownership. Mercatus members can benefit from greater exposure, new business leads, and community wealth building opportunities.
