Is the contractor expected to provide engineered drawings? |
Asked Nov 27, 2024 1:36PM
Answer:
Yes. This is a design-build. Engineered plans will need to be provided for the building permit. |
Question 1: There isn’t any concrete shown in the drawings, but there is a reference in Item 1 of section 2.2 to 6” reinforced concrete slab and “engineered footings as per codes and building MFG” Question 2: There is no Drainage shown on the plans but “Drainage Systems onsite & offsite” is listed in the ITB on page. o This leads into my second question about footing details and whether there is a footing drain or downspouts off the building and where is that water is going? Question 3: Footing Details o There are no footing details in the plans or documents, only a note stating “engineered footings as per codes and building MFG” do you have that information from the building manufacturer or code book? Question 4: Building Slab Rock Section o There is no rock section noted for under the building slab, do you have that information? Question 5: Building Power Source o Is the electrical to the building being fed overhead from the nearby power pole or will the building be fed via an underground conduit? |
Asked Dec 8, 2024 9:11AM
Answer:
Question 1: The concrete slab will be the floor of the building and the area labeled “parking” on S1, and also shown on T1. Question 2: There will not be any footing drains. There will be gutters and downspouts with downspout extensions. Question 3: Our plans have not been engineered yet. Footings weren’t drawn because we didn’t know what would be needed. Question 4: The rock section below the concrete will be 6”, to match the 6” gravel for the driving areas in front of the building. Question 5: Power from the pole to the building will be in underground conduit. |
