This planning project aims to develop a plan that establishes volunteer and donations management responsibilities and procedures for Clackamas County. Currently the county is very limited in ability to utilize volunteers and has no way to accept donations in a coordinated effort, beyond allowing donations of gift cards. Clackamas County has relied heavily on county staff to fill "volunteer" positions at disaster resource centers as well as non-profit organizations. The county diverts a lot of good donation offers to other organizations able to receive donations, but not in a well-coordinated manor. This has resulted in missed opportunities and donations offers expiring before coordination of the offer has been identified. The proposed project will fill this gap by enabling us to develop a plan that will enable better coordination and utilization of resources across the county.
