INTRODUCTION:
Clackamas Water Environment Services (WES, District) is requesting bids for purchasing one new
Flygt pump for the Willamette Pump Station. WES has standardized their pumps on Flygt N-Impeller
Pumps by Xylem, therefore, no equals will be considered. Please see attached Brand Standardization
letter. Willamette Pump Station is located at 1001 4th St., West Linn, OR 97068. Pumps shall be
shipped to: Tri-City Water Resource Recovery Facility, 15941 S Agnes Ave, Oregon City, OR 97045
for storage. Coordinate pump delivery with project manager, Mike Rice, MRice@clackamas.us, cell
(971) 430-0386.
2.02 BACKGROUND:
WES replaced an existing Cornell pump at the Willamette Pump Station with a Xylem Flygt pump due
to ongoing maintenance issues, ragging, with the Cornell pump. WES has plans to construct a new
pump station with new pumps adjacent to the existing Willamette Pump Station in the next five years,
but to allow for better redundancy and to further mitigate maintenance concerns in the interim, WES is
replacing a second existing Cornell pump at the Willamete Pump Station with another Xylem Flygt
pump which matches the previously installed Flygt pump. WES is a special district operating under
ORS 190 Partnership that produces clean water and protects water quality for more than 190,000 people
living and working in Clackamas County, Oregon. WES owns and operates five resource recovery
facilities, 23 pumping stations and more than 350 miles of pipes. WES serves the Cities of Milwaukie,
Happy Valley, Oregon City, West Linn, Gladstone, Johnson City, and unincorporated areas within
Clackamas County.
