Description
The City of Bowie requests proposals from qualified firms to provide landscape design, estimating, and permitting services for the design of a memorial garden located on the grounds of the Belair Mansion, located at 12207 Tulip Grove Drive, Bowie, MD 20715. This initiative aims to provide a contemplative space where visitors may meditate upon the history of the City of Bowie and especially, its enslaved people that inhabited and worked at the manor house and grounds. The design should thoughtfully prioritize the voices and experiences of these enslaved individuals making their central role in this community both visible and honored. Interpretive signage will be a critical element, ensuring that their stores are communicated with clarity, dignity, and permanence.
