Description

The City of Bowie, Maryland is a city of 54,727 residents, according to the 2010 Census, located in Prince George's County, and convenient to Washington, DC, Annapolis, and Baltimore. The City consists of approximately 18-square miles. The government has approximately 400 full-time staff with 7 departments.   For more information about the City of Bowie, please visit our website at www.cityofbowie.org.

The City of Bowie currently utilizes a Cisco UCS mini with a Nimble storage array for our VMware virtual server stack. The city is looking for a replacement virtual server solution that will allow existing servers to operate and provide room for expansion. 

The City is seeking fixed price proposals from bona fide and qualified vendors to provide hardware and professional services to replace a virtual server stack for the Information Technology Department.  Components in the refresh include:

a.     Virtual stack hardware

b.     Software licenses (above and beyond current configuration)

c.     Professional services for rack and stack, configuration, and migration of existing servers

d.     Maintenance contracts/warranty to cover a minimum of five years.

Bowie, Maryland, is a city of 54,727 residents, acccording to the 2010 Census, located in Prince George's County, and convenient to Washington, DC, Annapolis, and Baltimore.

The city consists of approximately 18-square miles. There are more than 1,100 acres set aside as parks or as preserved open space, including over 22 miles of paths and trails, and 75 ball fields.

Bowie has a nonpartisan city government directed by a mayor and six council members. The City Council meets on the first and third Mondays of most months in sessions that are open to the public.
