Description
The Barney Reservoir Joint Ownership Commission (BRJOC) seeks sealed bids from qualified firms able to provide all equipment, materials, and labor required to remove approximately 1,650 linear feet of chain link fence and fence posts embedded in the top of a concrete dam spillway structure, and replace approximately 1,650 linear feet (1,300 linear feet of 5-ft high fence and 350-ft of 7-ft high fence) of new galvanized chain link fence (6 gauge) and posts at the Barney Reservoir Dam Spillway located off N Fork Trask Road, Yamhill, Oregon. Work to include the removal of existing fence posts where possible, removal of loose debris and water from existing fence post sockets, and backfill with epoxy resin mortar topped with an elastomeric polyurethane coating. Where fence post removal is infeasible, existing posts to be cut below top of wall, and the location backfilled with epoxy resin mortar and topped with an elastomeric polyurethane coating. New galvanized fence posts will require galvanized fence post mounting hardware (owner furnished) to be installed on the side of the concrete wall structure using 5/8” GR. 36 hot dip galvanized threaded rod, 6” embed, and epoxy adhesive, custom cut EPDM rubber gasket for each bracket plate (8” x 13”), and tamper resistant nuts for mounting the bracket plate and fastening the post to the bracket plate. Custom fence post mounting bracket plates will be supplied by the BRJOC. Additional work to include the installation of two, 4’-6” wide operator access gates and one double swing gate consisting of two, 8’-9” wide panels with galvanized steel lock protectors at each gate. Conventional fence post concrete embedment in dense gravel may be necessary in some instances, including operator access gates and the double swing gate located on the downstream spillway bridge. All fence demolition materials and waste to be collected and disposed off-site by contractor. In addition to fence installation, minor concrete spall and crack repair will be required. Concrete spall repair (±9 SF) using a vertical repair mortar will be required on an elevated area approximately 15-ft above the bottom of a concrete spillway channel. Concrete crack repair using a high strength epoxy injection kit would be required at approximately 12 locations with both ground level and elevated areas 10 to 15-ft above the bottom of a concrete spillway channel. There is no pre-qualification process for this ITB. OPTIONAL pre-bid conference will be held at 10:00 AM on October 16, 2019 at the first Weyerhaeuser forest gate located on NW Turner Creek Road, Yamhill, OR (8.6 miles northwest of the City of Yamhill via NW Pike Road and continuing along NW Turner Creek Road). At 10:00 AM prospective bidders will be escorted through locked road gates up to the dam spillway structure for a site walk and review of existing conditions.
